Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you work with?

I support adult children and family caregivers who are caring for aging parents or loved ones—especially when the relationship is emotionally complex, strained, or rooted in past pain. If you’ve ever asked yourself, “How do I care for someone who once hurt me?”, you’re in the right place.

What makes your work different from traditional caregiver support?

Most caregiver support focuses on logistics. My work focuses on the emotional reality—guilt, obligation, resentment, and the internal conflict that comes with caregiving in difficult relationships. I provide practical, values-based tools that help you set boundaries, protect your peace, and choose how you want to show up.

Is this therapy?

No. I am not a licensed therapist, and I do not provide clinical mental health treatment. My role is peer-based support and education rooted in lived experience, trauma awareness, and real-world caregiving insight. I always recommend that caregivers seek therapy alongside this work if they’re processing trauma, grief, or ongoing emotional distress.

Should I be in therapy while doing this work with you?

Yes—if you’re not already in therapy, I strongly encourage it. My coaching and educational content is designed to complement therapy, not replace it. Therapy supports deep healing; I help you apply insights and make values-based decisions in your day-to-day caregiving role.

Do you work with people who are no longer caregiving—or not sure they want to continue?

Absolutely. Many people come to me unsure whether to continue, step back, or walk away from caregiving altogether. I help you explore your options with clarity and self-respect, free from guilt or outside pressure.

What’s your professional background?

I’m a retired EMS Deputy Chief with over 30 years of frontline experience. I’m also a certified caregiver consultant, coach, author, and trauma-informed educator. My work combines personal caregiving experience with professional insight and peer support.

Can therapists or professionals refer clients to you?

Yes. I collaborate with therapists, chaplains, care managers, and social workers who need a trusted non-clinical referral for clients navigating the emotional complexity of caregiving. I provide ethical peer support, coaching, and resources that complement professional mental health care.
